The first edition of our Young Graduate news this year is out!
This time the focus is on long- and short-term strategy, particularly, on new phenomenon: Short-termism.
Pursuing short-term strategies limits the potential long-term growth prospects of companies. Limitations include revenue, profit, job creation, research & development (R&D), shareholder returns, and the economy as a whole.
MSc. Thomas Olesen has written this article basing on his master thesis in 2017, where he looked at different sources of data: consultancy reports, multinational companies, who has already realized this increasing problem, and an analysis of two cases of private equity controlled global companies.
In the article you will find some ideas and recommendations on how to manage short-termism. These ideas are visualized in a framework.
Thomas was supervised by talented Professor Svetla Trifonova Marinova, International Business Center at AAU.
